We might not have mentioned the Airstream often enough to tell you that we've pretty much set on getting one. As for this week’s WW, I would like to write about the backdrop that perfectly compliments the trailer, Joshua Tree National Park.
I first laid eyes on Joshua Tree through the lenses of several photographers I follow on Instagram. Apart from that, I knew nothing about the place before I did my research for this post. If you’ve camped/hiked/visited, or better still, lived there, please comment below and tell me more about the place as I am not even gonna try to sound like I am an expert by quoting wiki: Joshua Tree National Park is located in southeastern California.Joshua

That’s it. Desert, a word so unfamiliar to me. And wilderness, only time I ever encounter that word was always as a metaphor in bible study…
As I was looking through vscos.com for photos, it’s not hard to notice how minimal everything looks frame after frame. Composed in junction of rocks, dirt, Joshua trees and any basic form of shelter, may it be a trailer or tent pinned to the earth, they are the sole reason to what makes all these pictures absolute gems.
There is an appeal in entering wilderness and the epiphany that often comes with it. To some it challenges you to your limits, to others it gives you breathing space for a moment of pensiveness. I have yet to experience either of them on my journey by far, but both sounds appealing enough as a whimsical wanderlust destination. With so much happening in places which pride themselves with civilisation, the wilderness reminds us that there is another balance more important than work-life balance. There is a world out there that balances and challenges by, not ours, not theirs, but by nature’s will.
Wilderness, a place ( or a state of mind ) I want to go back to, in order to ponder on its wonder.
