Now we've cleared that one out, let's move onto what this post was actually about. I am inspired by a video I watched and it reminded me to do a mid-year check on some new year resolutions. A prompt question she mentioned stuck with me for a good 24 hours.
" What is the one thing I can do right now,
that by doing it, everything will become easier and unnecessary? "
It was the tagline for the book The One Thing : The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results by Gary Keller. The video gave the example of waking up early, and everything will eventually fall into place.
It got me thinking about that one thing I need to do to get me somewhere with my creative journey. I sure know the answer, and many has suggested the idea to me, too. It really did not take long to figure out what it is. It's a route I foresee to be rocky. That route is making videos and publishing on, oh you know it, Youtube. Hey, it's already in my name. YT. YouTube.
Reaching audiences will be easier (with same amount of work if not more), feedback will be more immediate (also brutal).. Is this the one thing I can do right now, that by doing it, everything will become easier and unnecessary..? Is it really? I am really not convinced.
Still having plenty of doubts, I watched all my favourite YouTubers' first vlog for a glimpse of how everyone did when they first started.. It wasn't actually that bad. The other thing will be.. being in front of camera. Do I really have to though? I mean our faces are what we've been trying to avoid showing in our photos..
Warming myself up to the idea, I started searching all over the Tube to look for couple of video styles I like and will possibly be comfortable with:
2. Conan Gray
5. cam and nina
6. The Babcocks
Ah.. does it also mean I have to start putting on pants, wearing bras, keeping our flat tidy.. and eventually turn vegan? Well, I guess I need a crash course on editing, own a pet and give it my best shot.
